Freight Forwarding  Regional Sales Executive – South East


Our Sales Executives are responsible for the identification, acquisition, development and retention of a customer base within Air & Sea logistics.

About Gateway Cargo

Gateway Cargo are continuing to grow and have gone from strength to strength; therefore we require someone with industry knowledge and experience to join our Air and Sea team as a regional Sales Executive. We are on a journey to become the leading end to end logistics provider in the construction and building materials vertical and Freight forwarding is a key part of this journey. We are excited to present our new Freight Division, based at Rochester, Kent. This will be a new department with ambitious growth, we are looking for an experienced Sales Executive with Air and Sea freight experience, to be the foundation for our journey and the beginning of our growth.

 Your Responsibilities

  • To generate new business in the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) segment
  • To take pricing decision in alignment with the relevant stakeholders
  • To prepare and submit quotations to the customers
  • To demonstrate superior Freight Forwarding product and trade knowledge
  • To deliver presentations about our main Freight Forwarding products
  • To monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing & products.
  • Work with the CRM system in order to properly manage personal pipeline and record activity that will be base for Sales Incentive Scheme.
  • Stay updated about local regulations, industry, new practices and any enhancements
  • Be fully accountable for the growth of GP (gross profit) across these modes and in line with Sales incentive Scheme.
  • Travel across the South East

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Business to business, face to face sales experience in Freight Forwarding
  • Strong communication skills and proven record of sales success
  • Effective and proactive time management/ forward planning
  • Ability to build customer “value propositions”
  • Experience of working/managing existing Customer portfolios/pipeline
  • Experience of developing sales leads
  • Experience of working within a targeted new business environment

About you:


  • Proven track record in sales field, with at least 2 years of recent and relevant sales experience in Freight Forwarding
  • Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory.


  • Freight Forwarding – Solid and demonstrated working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Execution Sales Skills – Ability to research, identify, tackle, grow and close business opportunities ensuring the needed support from product and operations.
  • Agile Skills – Ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet various deadlines
  • Computer Skills – Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Communication – Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, vendors
